India gets 37 shortlists in D&AD Awards 2022

Dentsu Webchutney, FCB India, Ogilvy, VMLY&R, Publicis Groupe India and a few other agencies have got shortlists

India gets 37 shortlists in D&AD Awards 2022

D&AD has announced the shortlist for this year’s D&AD Awards across all categories. The winners will be revealed in two virtual ceremonies on May 25 and 26, 2022. Ranked at No. 10, India has received 37 shortlists in the awards. 

Dentsu Webchutney has got nine shortlists in Digital/Mobile, Digital/Physical & Digital, Digital/Use of XR, Digital/ Storytelling, Direct/Digital, Experiential/Public Spaces, Experiential/Use of AR, PR/Events and Stunts, Digital Design / Use of XR for Vice World News’ ‘The unfiltered history tour’. 

FCB India fetched eight shortlists for the campaign ‘The nominate me Selfie’ campaign for the Times of India. The shortlists are in the categories Experiential/Community, Impact/Local Solution, PR/Single Market, PR/Digital & Social, Experiential/Responsible Activations, Media/Mobile, Media/Direct and Media/Interaction.

Ogilvy India was able to garner five shortlists for Mondelez’s campaign ‘Shahrukh Khan - My Ad’. The shortlists are in the categories Media/Use of Talent & Influencers, Direct/Digital, Experiential/Use of Talent & Influencers, Experiential / Use of Technology, PR/Use of Talent & Influencers. The agency fetched another shortlist for Dove’s campaign #StopTheBeautyTest in the Media/Use of Micro-Talent & Influencers category. 

VMLY&R has fetched three shortlists in the Direct/Health & Wellbeing, Packaging Design/Materials and Impact/Local Solution categories for Maxx Flash ‘The killer pack’ campaign. 

DDB Mudra has got six shortlists in total. The agency has fetched five shortlists in the categories Editing/Film, Direction/Film, Sound Design & Use of Music/Sound Design, Film/Social Commercials Over 30 Seconds and Film/TV/VOD Commercials 31 - 120 Seconds for the campaign “Machine Gun - Mouth” created for Battlegrounds Mobile India. Stayfree ‘Daughters Day’ campaign by DDB Mudra has got a shortlist in the Film/Health & Wellbeing category. 

Publicis Groupe India has got a shortlist for Vicks India’s “Care Lives On #TouchOfCare” campaign. 

Landor & Fitch has fetched a shortlist in the Branding/Logos category for Giga Foods’ Full’r. 

Memesys Culture Lab has got a single shortlist in the Writing for Advertising/Film category for the campaign ‘Shasn: Azadi.

Byju’s got a shortlist for its campaign ‘Masterji’ in the Casting/Film category. 

Google’s ‘Anek Multiscript Variable Font Family’ is shortlisted in the Type Design/Display category. 

Altogether, 1362 entries have been shortlisted worldwide for the awards.

In its 60th year, the awards have grown to incorporate more than 40 categories judged by a cohort of nearly 400 of the world’s leading creative minds. 

The 2022 Awards saw the introduction of Upstream Innovation subcategories, awarding those rethinking products and services to fit within a circular system; Responsible Ideas, to champion work mindful of people and the planet; dedicated subcategories for AR, VR and MR work as well as Use of XR to recognise work that is reimagining how brands interact with consumers; and subcategories under Health and Wellbeing for those innovating in the field of health, wellness, fitness and nutrition.
