Goafest 2022 kicks off today marking the largest A&M industry gathering after three years

This time around, Goafest has received a record number of registrations of people to attend the event and entries for the Abby awards. The three-day event will have veterans from sports, Bollywood, high-ranking people from government bodies, along with Indian and international stalwarts from the field of advertising and content

Goafest 2022 kicks off today marking the largest A&M industry gathering after three years

India’s biggest three-day advertising event, Goafest is returning today after a hiatus of two years at its usual venue Grand Hyatt, Bambolim, Goa. The event will see thousands of advertising and marketing professionals from across the country joining in the celebrations.

This time around, Goafest and Abby Awards have registered a record number of registrations and entries and sponsorships. The event will host 28 power-packed speakers from new-age media like OTT, Social Media, Gaming, Health and Wellness, along with an attention to Policies and Regulations from May 5-7, 2022.

The advertising event will also have personalities from Indian Sports and Bollywood, including SS Rajamouli, Kash Sree, Menno Kluin, Madhuri Dixit, Kiran Bedi, PV Sindhu, Mithali Raj and Kapil Dev.

To bring international standards of the judging process, credibility and authenticity to the awards, this time Abby Awards has partnered with the One Show.

Not just this, the Jury Chairs of this year’s Abby Awards are world-renowned industry veterans from across the globe and India, including Mariota Essery - Executive Creative Director, Doordash, Jessica Appellaniz - Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy Latin America, Valerie Madon - Chief Creative Officer Asia, VMLY&R, Menno Kluin is the Chief Creative Officer of Dentsu US, Aricio Fortes, Chief Creative Officer, BBDO China, Myra Nussbaum, President and Chief Creative Officer, Havas Chicago, Ayappa KM, Devika Prabhu, Geet Rathi, Megha Tata, Raj Kamble, Amer Jaleel, Ashwini Deshpande, Bobby Pawar, Chaaya Bharadwaj, Rahul Mathew and Rajdeepak Das.

The first day of the event will begin with Live music by Sukhbir at 2:30 pm, followed by the inauguration programme in the presence of actress Yami Gautam, Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics and ShareChat’s Ankush Sachdeva.

AAAI will also launch its new logo today after 16 years, for which it had announced a competition a few months ago.

There would also be a session which will have Rohit Kumar Singh - Secretary (CA) - Ministry of Consumer Affairs & Food Distribution in Conversation with Piyush Pandey. The session will be moderated by Subhash Kamath, Chairman, ASCI.

Abby One Show Awards 2022 will also be announcing the winners of the Media and Publishers category on day 1.

On day 2, Abby’s will be announcing winners of the Broadcaster, Public Relations, Design, Direct & Technology, Digital & Digital Craft and Mobile categories.

On the second day, one will get to see PV Sindhu in conversation with Sameer Kochchar - TV Presenter, Actor and Anchor.

In another session, actors Vikrant Massey, Ali Fazal and Gautam Talwar- Chief Content Officer, MX Player will be speaking about the content landscape in India. Present on day 2 would also be Kapil Dev and Charu Sharma.

There would also be a conversation between Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli and Anupam Kher.​​ Singer Shilpa Rao will also be performing on day 2.

The last and the third day of Goafest will begin with a chat between ​​Mithali Raj, Sharlene Lobo, Anchor-Mirror Now, followed by a conclave, which will have Gowthaman Ragothaman-CEO, Aqilliz and Co-Founder, Web3 Marketing Association and Sandeep Bhushan-Director and Head of India GMS for Meta, sharing their thoughts on new-age media and marketing.

There would also be a panel discussion on Diversity, Equality & Inclusion panel on day 3. In another session, content creators Ranveer Allahbadia, Niharika NM, Raj Shamani, Madan Gowri will be seen catching up with Viraj Sheth, Co-Founder & CEO of Monk Entertainment.

Winners of the Video Craft, Radio & Radio-Craft, Branded Content & Entertainment, Green Award, Brand Activation & Promotion, Diversity, Equality & Inclusion, Out of Home / Ambient Media, Still, Print & Still Craft, Still Digital, Audio Visual TV / Cinema, Audio, Visual Digital, Young Abby Awards, Red Abby, Integrated will be announced on the last day.

Goafest’s nine Knowledge Masterclasses this year include topics like ‘The Power of Camera Marketing’, Creative workshops by FCB Ulka, Snapchat, Publicis Groupe and many more workshops from Meta, Sharechat, and Google.

This year, instead of a physical presentation of the winning craftwork, Goafest has decided to do a digital presentation of the award-winning craftwork, which will be showcased in the main area of the event, unlike earlier when there used to be a separate segment where workpieces were showcased physically. The Goafest will also be broadcast on TV, other than the regular print and digital coverage of the event.

Goafest would be about celebrating the human spirit, coming out alive and kicking from the last two years, the strength that the industry has displayed in the tough times, and of course, all the work that got created despite all the limitations.

Goafest has onboarded 18 sponsors for this year. Times Network has come on board as Presenting Sponsor and the event will be Co-Powered by MX Player and Spotify. Hindustan Times is the Digital partner and Meta is the Digital Conclave Sponsor.

Earlier in April, to set the tone for the festival of creativity in Goa, AAI launched a video featuring Rohit Ohri, Sam Balsara, Anupriya Acharya, Jaideep Gandhi, Founder and Arvind Sharma dancing to the tunes of rapper Badshah’s song ‘Jugnu’.
