udChalo, the consumer tech company from Upcurve Business Services, has filed a suit before Delhi High Court for Permanent Injunction restraining infringement of trademark, passing off, Dilution of Goodwill, unfair competition, rendition of accounts of profits/ damages etc against Easy Trip Planners, Happyfares, Google India and Google LLC.
udChalo claims that its competitors are targeting it for its large customer base. udChalo said that the competitors are trying to attract its customers through the use of AdWords and keywords of the company. It further claimed that it tried urging the competitors to discontinue this tactic but they did not comply.
It was after all these measures had failed that udChalo approached Delhi HC on February 25, 2022.
Speaking about the suit, Ravi Kumar, Founder and CEO, udChalo, said, “It is overwhelming to see leading players like EaseMyTrip, HappyFares etc following our footsteps, this certainly is a testament that udChalo is on the right direction and able to make that difference in the lives of the targeted customer base. We are a committed player for our niche customer base and follow the vision of providing the best ‘service to the servicemen’. Misleading promotions and infringing ad policies are not ethical practices and the industry should refrain from engaging in such schemes to confuse consumers.”
udChalo is a Pune-based start-up that serves Armed Forces, Paramilitary Forces, and their dependents. The company offers travel, financial services, group housing, consumer products and services and utility bill payments and is in the process of integrating additional services into its portfolio.
