News18 Kerela is offering an opportunity to the viewers to experience the rich, divine, and spiritual journey of 41 days of the Mandala Pooja pilgrimage, even during the pandemic and floods situation. Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is one of the most famous and prominent Sastha temples in Kerala.
The channel will provide a special coverage of the Deeparadhana, Padi Pooja and Harivarasanam ceremonies which take place during these 41 days. It will also telecast the evening rituals live between 6.25 to 7.00 pm.
Padi Pooja, the pooja of the 18 holy steps that will appear on selected days will be covered through special live dip-ins for all the viewers ending with the virtues of Lord Ayyappan being sung just before the closure of the shrine and temple doors in the night. The channel will conclude the day’s coverage by showcasing Harivarasanam, the closing ceremony of the sanctum sanctorum rituals live held between 9.40 to 10.00 pm.
Apart from the live coverage, a special show called “Ayyane Kaanan”- a news segment that will showcase the poojas done throughout the day is also on the cards. A big live show has been designed especially for the Makaravilakku ceremony, which is known to be the most auspicious ritual of the annual pilgrimage season.
These programs will be led by on-ground teams, anchors, and experts offering viewers a full coverage of the holy event.
