Indian agencies have won a total of seven Pencils from 14 shortlists at D&AD Awards 2021. Taproot Dentsu, Ogilvy Mumbai and Wunderman Thompson Mumbai were awarded a Graphite Pencil and a Wood Pencil each while Famous Innovations won a Wood Pencil.

Graphite Pencil is awarded to stand-out work, beautifully executed, with an original and inspiring idea at its core. Wood Pencil is awarded to the best work of the year, worthy of a place in the D&AD Annual.
Taproot Dentsu’s ‘Pooja Didi’ film for Facebook won a Graphite Pencil for Sound Design and Use of Music under Original Composition. The film was awarded a Wood Pencil for Casting in the Film category.
Wunderman Thompson Mumbai’s ‘Save Our Sentinels’ film for Jimmy Nelson Foundation also won the Graphite Pencil for Sound Design and Use of Music under Original Composition. It was awards a Wood Pencil for Photography under Documentary.
Ogilvy Mumbai’s ‘The Artist’ film for ITC was awarded Graphite Pencil for Casting in Film category while it won a Wood Pencil for Casting in Street Casting category.
Famous Innovations’ ‘The Applegram’ won a Wood Pencil in ‘Experiential/OOH’ category.
