Caesar Sengupta, Vice-President and General Manager, Payments and Next Billion Users Initiative at Google, has called it a day.

Based out of Singapore, he led the tech giant’s payments plans, including their grand digital payments bet – Google Pay. He was also one of the key people behind the launch and success of Google Pay in India and helped the payment app's relaunch in the US and Singapore.

In a post on LinkedIn, Sengupta said that his next move isn’t yet decided while his last day at Google would be April 30.

“After over 15 wonderful years at Google, I have decided to venture out and start on a new mission. I remain very positive about Google’s future but it's time for me to see if I can ride without training wheels,” he wrote.

Thanking Google’s Chief Executive Officer, Sundar Pichai, he wrote, “I am incredibly grateful to this wonderful company and our leadership, especially Sundar, who took a bet on me, a novice PM (product manager), a decade and a half back, sponsored me, gave me the opportunity to learn, grow, make mistakes and build deep friendships that I will cherish forever.”

Prior to Google, Sengupta was a Summer Associate (Strategy) with Standard Charted Bank. He did his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
