Olx Group, the classifieds platform owned by Prosus, has decided to rebrand its job board Aasaanjobs to Waah Jobs. Olx group has been operating in India under two brands in the blue collar staffing and recruitment segment, Olx People and Aasaanjobs.
The rebranding to Waah Jobs helps in better alignment to the company’s value proposition of providing trusted jobs from verified employers to the candidates. The new brand name also reflects the ‘wow’ experience it wants to create for the job seekers on the platform.
Waah Jobs seek to leverage India’s rich human resource by making hiring easy for all parties involved — candidates, employers as well as recruitment consultants. It aims to grow the number of monthly active job seekers on the platform by 10x over the next five years by simplifying job discovery and efficient match-making between jobs and candidates.
The new name for the job board, Waah Jobs, has been chosen with deliberation and research. Waah is an informal, colloquial and a popular Urdu-Hindi word. In the literary sense, it’s Hindi for the English word ‘wow’. Waah is exclamatory in tone and is used for expressing happiness or appreciation. Further, it is well understood and spoken all across the country.
The new logo features a clean, crisp and bold typeface that represents the weightiness of the Waah expression and conveys the intent of the category. The vibrant colours — orange and purple reflect the company’s approach to its work: energetic, passionate, and innovative and reflects the buoyant sector it operates in. The differentiated sharp colours help the logo to stand out in the category and its impactful design can be adapted across platforms and mediums.
“The new brand identity is not only current and modern but reflects our core ethos of helping job seekers succeed and reach new levels of success,” said Tarun Sinha, CEO, Waah Jobs and OLX People.
“It’s a major milestone for the company as the recruitment market accelerates and an opportunity for the brand to become synonymous with tech-enabled recruitment. Recruitment sector is seeing a revival led by industries such as technology, start-ups, healthcare, logistics and other in demand sectors and will continue to accelerate as the confidence to open businesses continues to grow this year. This new brand and evolving positioning illustrates our growing ambition on the market.”
