Call for entries open for BuzzInContent Awards 2020
Avinash and Kirti got married on April 14 via video call. The entire wedding ceremony and celebrations are conducted from the comfort of their homes over a video call. For Avinash and Kirti, the wedding was as close to a traditional Hindu ceremony with Ganesh sthapna, sangeet, dhol, sangeet performances by family and even make-up and mehndi artists who helped the bride with her look via video call. Wedding invites were sent with video call links and even a special backdrop was designed to create the right atmosphere and setting.
The wedding happened in Ghaziabad and a Panditji officiated all the ceremonies via a video call. Around 200 family and friends joined the ceremony and showered blessings. After the wedding, food delivery was organised to the houses of all guests to distribute sweets and food.
The next wedding is set to happen on April 19 between Sushen Dang from Mumbai and Keerti Narang from Bareilly. This wedding will be held via a video call with friends and family joining from across India.
Adhish Zaveri, Director, Marketing, Shaadi.com, said, “Weddings From Home is an audacious act with a strong purpose at the heart of it. At the root of its success are two critical factors. One, repurposing existing technology to drive discontinuous value and two, allowing people to celebrate their big day with as much fanfare, regardless of the lockdown. Who would have thought that you could have a sangeet performance and dhol-tasha in a virtual wedding?”
Groom Avinash Bagri said, “To be really honest, we had our doubts about how everything will pan out, but I must say ultimately it turned out better than expected. We had guests from over 10 countries who participated whole heartedly, everyone was dancing during the sangeet, sharing their videos, screens; it was so much fun. Most importantly even my parents who are not very tech-savvy not only joined but participated in every ceremony, which was an emotional moment for us.”
