With an aim to introduce a fresh pool of talent in the existing digital ecosystem, Pocket Aces, a digital entertainment company, has once again partnered with India Film Project for its ambitious project — Web Writers’ Lab.
Call for entries open for BuzzInContent Awards 2020
The project aims to provide an efficient launchpad to budding writers and assists them to adapt to the changing dynamics of the industry. The project, which is open for registrations until March 31, will help selected writers in finishing their script and making it screen ready for a web sketch. Not only will the sketch be produced by Pocket Aces but will also be hosted/distributed on its short-form video channel FilterCopy.
Web Writers’ Lab is the country’s solo script writers’ lab for the digital medium and envisions to bring forth talented and deserving writers panning across the country. The platform will not only hone their content creation skills but also mentor them in developing content for the audience.
Through last year’s association, Pocket Aces produced “Certificate of Nationalism” in association with Web Writers’ Lab witnessing a great response from its audience base. The sketch that was written by winning writer Narinder Singh, an accountant based in Delhi, amassed 12 million+ views on FilterCopy’s Facebook and YouTube combined.
Raunak Ramteke, Content Strategist and Creator, FilterCopy, said, “We truly believe that our country houses some incredible talent and all they need is a platform to showcase that. Joining hands with India Film Project’s, Web Writers’ Lab is our contribution in providing opportunities and resources to aspiring writers which they rightfully deserve. We will empower them, right from the inception stage to producing their videos. We had a successful collaboration earlier where many talented artists got a chance to display their work; looking forward to scout for more talent this year too.”
Gaurav Dave, Festival Producer, India Film Project, said, “At IFP, we are consistently making efforts towards providing a platform to all 5.5 lac creators on our platform to showcase their talent and continually upgrade themselves. Web Writers' Lab is one such initiative to make good art in the process. It's designed to help writers adapt to new formats of writing in the constantly evolving Indian webspace. The idea is to create a place where talented writers can learn from the best in business and hone their craft of writing short-form snackable content.”
Apart from a content festival in Asia which provides a platform to more than 5.5L content creators, India Film Project is an idea to recognise and appreciate the talent of people behind the camera and also to create good content while doing that. Over 8,500 films have been made at IFP in 50 hours in all the seasons by 50,000+ filmmakers from 312 cities and 18 countries.
