Wion launches 'South Asia Diary'

Wion, the English news channel from Zee Media, has launched a weekly show ‘South Asia Diary’, focusing on stories from South Asia. The show is being broadcast every Monday at 8:30 pm, starting from December 9, on the news channel and its website.

The weekly show will have reports on politics, technology, environment, entertainment and culture from the region. South Asia Diary will be anchored by Mariam Wardak, who is a security analyst and advocate for gender inclusion in Afghanistan. She is the founder of 'Her Afghanistan', a global online platform for professionals around the world to support Afghan women in fields of security, peace, foreign policy, and technology. She also established the first female research network in Afghanistan in 2010 for technical support.

South Asia is not only the world's most populous and culturally diverse region but also one of the fastest-growing. Wion intends to give a voice to this region, by showcasing its unheard growth stories. To comprehensively cover the region, there will be eight reports every week, one from each of the eight South Asian countries.
