Smartphone brand Xiaomi has launched its Pujo video, ‘Pujor Gaan’, in partnership with Rock Band Fossil and singer Rupam Islam in Kolkata. The song is a celebration of the freedom of Pujo and the quintessential spirit during this festival which brings the whole state together through a series of Pujo-based memories.
Encapsulating the festive feels, this song has been produced and recorded by Rupam Islam, the vocalist of Fossils Band in collaboration with Xiaomi. The song was released in September and Rupam and Xiaomi requested Mi Fans to send in their chosen images and recorded videos that revolved around the theme of Pujo and the song. The best images and recordings were then given a chance to be featured in the final music video of the song that was released on the pious day of Mahalaya, September 28.
Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India said, “Durga Puja is celebrated with great pride and enthusiasm in Kolkata and music is an integral part of the festivity. So, to make this religious occasion a memorable one for our Mi fans, we are excited to collaborate with the talented and popular Rupam Islam to create our ‘Pujor Gaan’. This music video has also given us the opportunity to celebrate this joyous festival with our Mi Fans and get a glimpse of their favourite Pujo moments. We wish everyone a Happy Durga Pujo, and hope that it brings joy and prosperity to all.”
