HT Media appoints Samudra Bhattacharya as CEO -  Print

HT Media has appointed Samudra Bhattacharya as Chief Executive Officer - Print. He will report to HT Media MD and CEO Praveen Someshwar.

Bhattacharya will lead transformation across the business and will work on product/geography innovation, while helping building new age capability.

The Print Marketing team will continue to report to Rajan Bhalla, Group CMO for HT Media, who will have a dotted line reporting relationship with Bhattacharya for all print related activities. Bhalla will continue reporting to Someshwar for Marketing initiatives on the rest of the business. The Events organization will also continue to report to Bhalla.

HT Media is creating a business vertical for Mint which will be headed by Anuradha Sehgal who will report to Bhattacharya, while also having a dotted line reporting to Bhalla for all Marketing initiatives on Mint.

The Brand Solutions and Category teams will report to Bhattacharya.

In order to create a digitally enabled Print organization, there are several organisational investments that are being planned. In this context, the Head of Print Product Digitization will have a dotted line reporting into Bhattacharya, while simultaneously having a solid line reporting to the IT Head.

The functional teams of Finance, HR and Supply Chain that support the Print business will report to Bhattacharya. 

Bhattacharya, after graduating from the Indian Institute of Management at Lucknow in 1995, has worked across several roles and geographical locations for the last 24 years. He started his career with P&G in India and after 4 years, joined Asian Paints in the Middle East where he served in Sales & Marketing as well as General Management roles for almost 7 years. He then joined PepsiCo India in 2006 and has worked across several assignments spanning, line Sales, Sales & Channel Strategy, Franchise Management and General Management. In his last assignment, Bhattacharya was based at Manila, Philippines, with PepsiCo as the General Manager for the PepsiCo Joint Venture in that country.
