Dinesh Menon, Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), State Bank of India (SBI), has quit. Menon has been with the SBI from March 2016.
Speaking to Best Media Info, Menon confirmed that he has moved on from SBI. He is yet to decide on his next destination and says he is still weighing the various opportunities that are on offer.
With over two decades of experience, Menon started his career in 1998 as an Account Supervisor at JWT where he was responsible for brand development and marketing communications for Blowplast Industries (VIP), Star Plus, Star News and Standard Chartered Bank.
In 2000, Menon moved to Lowe Lintas as Senior Brand Services Director. For three years he worked extensively on Unilever brands (HHC category) in brand development, and helped transform Vim Dish Wash to being classified as a power brand at Unilever. Besides Unilever, he worked on HSBC Bank across the entire business (retail, corporate and SME).
In 2003, Menon joined American Express as Marketing Head and handled some of the marquee brands including Bang & Olufsen, Mercedes, Fortune 500, DLF Golf, TIME, Ford amongst others. In 2005 he took over the role of Business Head - Platinum Cards at American Express.
From 2006 –2008, Menon worked as Vice President - Marketing & Communications at Bharti AXA Life Insurance. Thereafter, he was associated with a number of brands such as National Bank of Oman, PowerEd Technologies, and Independent Marketing Advisory.
