Khushoo Malik firmly believes one can keep up the good work only if they do what they are passionate about. “My profession feeds my passion for creativity, which allows me to pitch jaw dropping ideas to clients,” says Malik, a Sr. Key Account Manager at Dentsu Aegis Network.
Malik, who was awarded as a “Young Outdoorian” at the Out of Home Advertising Convention (OAC) 2016-17, was very passionate about working for an advertising agency from her graduation days.
Through college placements, she landed in DDB Mudra where she was offered a six-month internship. Later, she was absorbed in the same organisation. “I bagged a full-time opportunity in the Out-of-Home Division of DDB Mudra,” she shares.
Malik later joined Ambient, the OOH division of DAN in 2017. “At Ambient, every day is a new experience and I can say that I am being groomed to be the best version of myself,” she says.
For Malik, the journey so far has been a roller coaster ride but her personal and professional growth in her past and present organisations has made her stand still and motivated her for more such tough rides.
“‘You have grown so much in the last few years’, is one of the best things said to me in recent times,” she joyously shares.
Speaking on her time at the present organisation, Malik said, “We are a digitally ahead and a creatively-led organisation; this gave me an opportunity to learn as well as unlearn a lot of things. DAN, being a 360-degree communication agency, helped me to learn how other verticals function. As we all know, we are highly data-driven and so we need to align our approach on the basis of tools and methods we work.”
The young soul’s biggest strength is being collaborative and abiding to deadlines. Not meeting a deadline makes her anxious sometimes.
Speaking on the most challenging and fun project so far, Malik said, “Working on the IDBI Federal Childsurance campaign was quite exciting as well as challenging. It was an amalgamation of on-ground, digital, creatives and out-of-home infused with a lot of innovation. The campaign was huge and so it involved a lot of coordination, responsibility and late nights.”
“Irrespective of all the challenges, these are the moments that give you the maximum exposure and learnings,” she says.
Malik enjoys a very enhancing experience at her current workplace.
Among her hobbies, she has keen interest in photography and often participates in photography walks and contests.
She says if not in an advertising agency, she would have been an entrepreneur. “I would probably build a preschool,” she concludes.
