Cannes Lions has revealed the shortlisted entries for the 2019 Glass: The Lion for Change; Innovation Lions and Titanium Lions. Ogilvy Mumbai’s Hamam Waterproof Saree was the only shortlist from India for Glass Lions.
Working with brand partner, Ogilvy India, Hindustan Unilever’s soap brand Hamam created a simple yet effective solution – Waterproof Sarees for women which form a large part of the Kumbh gathering. The same sari that the women are used to, but with a simple layer of waterproofing treatment that makes the fabric aquaphobic. This made it an ideal clothing option for women devotees taking a holy dip at the Holy Sangam.
The initiative was aimed at helping women preserve their modesty while taking the Holy Dip in the open without worrying about the preying eyes.
The shortlisted entrants will present their work directly to jury members, in front of a live audience, from Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 June 2019.
The live judging format provides an interactive forum within the awards review process. Jury members are encouraged to engage with presenters and ask questions to better understand the finer details of the entry. The live audience get first-hand insight into the judging process and gain an opportunity to find out what the jury is looking for when awarding a Lion, while also discovering new innovations and creative work from around the world.
