News18 Network India’s news channels CNN-News18 and News18 India have lined up special programming initiatives to keep the viewers apprised of major developments across the country on the outcome of the General Elections on May 23.
News18 Network has deployed ‘Magic Wall’, an analytical tool that uses artificial intelligence for election programming and result presentation. Powered by research done at the constituency level by the extensive News18 network, this innovative tool will produce accurate data, do a quick comparative analysis of the trends vis-a-vis the previous poll results, winning and losing candidates, their margins and percentages.
CNN-News18 and News18 India will utilise Augmented and Virtual reality technology to provide appealing and enhanced coverage. The channels have more than 2,000 reporters across all counting centres and constituencies, sharing up-to-the-minute updates. The network has also developed a massive elections hub in Hyderabad which will serve as end-to-end data collection, processing and dissemination centre.
The programming will start at 6am and will aim to bring the first reactions and a 360-degree view throughout the day until the final results are declared. Offering a combination of live reportage, real-time updates on seat tally, the counting day coverage on both the channels will keep a close track of the trends and provide in-depth analysis and implications of the results.
Leading the reportage on CNN-News18, Bhupendra Chaubey, Executive Editor and Zakka Jacob, Editor, Output, will be joined by a panel of experts such as Swapan Dasgupta, Vir Sanghvi, Ajoy Bose, Surjit Bhalla, Rasheed Kidwai, Advaita Kala, Sanjaya Baru, Rahul Verma and Pratham Mittal to name a few.
