As broadcasters are set to implement the new tariff regime issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), informing consumers about the change and new pricing has become the need of hour.
Star India has unleashed an awareness campaign, ‘Sach Mein’, across its networks to educate the consumers. The campaign has been launched in seven languages — Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The broadcaster is hosting the campaign across its platforms with special preference on digital.
Created by Star India’s in-house team, the campaign feature stars like Aamir Khan, Mohanlal, Kamal Hassan, Nagarjuna, Bengali movie star Dev, Kannada film star Darshan Thoogudeep and Swapnil Joshi. The broadcaster will soon launch its eighth campaign in English featuring Karan Johar.
The campaign highlights the reverse talk wherein the stars bargain with shopkeeper to increase the package rate while the shopkeeper keeps denying and sticks to the set rate. The campaign was created within two weeks.
The second leg of the campaign will feature renowned sports stars and television stars like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Divyanka Tripathi, Gautam Rode, Sharad Malhotra and Bhumika Gurung among others.
Star India has launched the Star Value Pack in seven markets to offer quality to consumers at an affordable rate. The value packs are available in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The Star Value Pack offers consumer access to high quality sports content, including cricket, kabaddi, football along with the popular entertainment, movies and infotainment channels.
Star India has launched four value packs in four different pricing — Star Value Pack, Star Premium Pack, Star HD Value Pack and Star HD Premium Pack.
The value pack for standard subscribers is priced at a maximum of Rs 49 per month, while HD subscribers have to pay a maximum of Rs 85 per month. The premium package for standard definition subscribers has been priced at Rs 79, while for HD subscribers it is priced at Rs 120.
The primary difference between ‘value’ and ‘premium’ packages of Star India is that premium packs include English language channels as well as all seven sports channels. Premium pack users get Star Sports 1 and Star Sports Select 1 & 2, as well as Star Movies and other English channels, in addition to the value channels. Hindi movie channel Star Gold Select is also exclusive to premium packs.
