Manforce Condoms has launched the second instalment of its campaign ‘#ShutThePhoneUp 2.0’. Conceptualised and executed by ADK Fortune Communications Pvt. Ltd, the campaign talks about one of the biggest myths of data security — that all data is erased after smartphones are formatted. It asks consumers not to film their intimate moments and practise ‘safe’ sex.
The digital film showcases one such predicament of a couple who have to negotiate a difficult deal for their old phone that contained some intimate moments, which they thought had been erased. Even after a phone is formatted, data can be easily retrieved with software available on the internet and used for blackmail or worse.
Rajeev Juneja, CEO, Mankind Pharma said, “Manforce takes great pride in being a responsible brand and spreading awareness about safe sex. Our attempt has been to not only educate couples about this sensitive issue but to also burst the bubble surrounding data security today.”
Akashneel Dasgupta, NCD, ADK Fortune said, “The ‘erased’ data can be retrieved easily. It can be any sensitive information, which could put you at risk. And if it is a private moment, it makes you far more vulnerable to harm. The infrastructure around data security isn’t as robust as we would like it to be. Since prevention is better than cure, the best way to practise ‘safe’ sex is to not film yourself in the first place.”
Giving tips on how to cleanse your smartphones thoroughly, Manforce has also created a dedicated page on its website.
