Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited (FGII) has designated Shreeraj Deshpande, Senior Vice-President and Head, Operations, Customer Service & Health Insurance as Principal Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company. Deshpande will be responsible for the overall operations of FGII and will drive the strategic growth plans in his tenure as Interim Head in addition to his existing responsibilities.

Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited (FGII) is the general insurance arm of the joint venture between retail game changers Future Group and global insurer Generali.

Deshpande replaces KG Krishnamoorthy Rao, who will take over the role of CEO of MPI Generali Insurans Berhad (MPI Generali) and will relocate to Malaysia. Rao successfully headed FGII’s India business for over 11 years and led the firm to profitable growth.

Roberto Leonardi, Regional Officer, Asia Pacific, Generali said, “Krishnamoorthy’s strong leadership, energy and dynamism has driven FGII to the efficacious position that it is in now. We are excited to confirm KG’s appointment as CEO MPI Generali. He is well-placed to support our regional strategy of accelerating our presence and to become Asia’s best insure.

“We welcome Shreeraj Deshpande into his new role and are confident that with his immense experience and knowledge, he is well placed to drive FGII to newer levels of success.”

Prior to joining Future Generali India Insurance, Deshpande held leadership position at Bajaj Allianz where he worked for over six years. Starting his insurance career with The New India Assurance Company, he shifted to the private sector after 14 years of experience in the public sector.
