Sakal Media Group (SGM) has signed an agreement with Amazon.in for its Diwali special edition, ‘Diwali Ank’, to expand its readership base among the Marathi-speaking community globally.
Giving a digital touch to its tradition of publishing special issues during the festive season, SGM has made subscription-based purchases available via Amazon.in and on the Sakal Publication website (sakalpublications.com).
Pradeep Dwivedi, CEO of Sakal Media Group, said, “Digital media is a large driver of change. Through this deal with Amazon, we will be able to reach out to Marathi readers across India and the world. The idea is also about disseminating good people stories and this opens scope to look at podcasts and other digital formats, which we would like to explore. This partnership widens our reach and opens up doors to promote products and brands in wider geographies.”
A total of 19 Diwali issues, including the six major offerings, edition-wise, are the highlights of ‘Diwali Ank’. The six major offerings are:
Shabdadeep: With a theme of ‘Idea of India’, this includes travel stories and experiences, stories and poems. Along with it, the festive issue will feature memories of eminent personalities from art, culture and literature.
Saptahik Sakal: This includes the experiences shared by people from different age groups. The theme of this section is ‘Travel to learn’.
Agrowon: This section is designated to celebrate the stories of farmers who establishing farm practices overcoming odds.
Tanishka: ‘Women and her purse’, as the theme says, the section features women across Maharashtra. TV and film personality Ekta Kapoor will also be interviewed for the edition.
Premier: The editorial comprises ‘100 years of the censor board’ and a special story on the making of the 1982 movie, Gandhi, to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary.
Sakarnama: A political web portal will launch its first-ever print version in the form of ‘Diwali Ank’. It contains a survey analysing voters for 2019, touching upon political news and experiences of popular leaders, including a feature on tomorrow’s influential young leaders.
