Publicis India has announced the termination of Ishrath Nawaz, following the investigation with regards to sexual harassment allegations made against him on social media that triggered the #MeToo movement in the advertising industry.
In a statement put out on social media, Publicis said, “The investigation in relation to Mr. Ishrath Nawaz has been concluded. Mr. Nawaz’s conduct has been found to be violative of Publicis India’s policy. Consequently, Mr. Ishrath Nawaz’s services have been terminated.”

The names taken in the #MeToo movement in the advertising industry started tumbling out when Twitter user Kalamwali Bai tweeted about Ishrath Nawaz, ECD, Publicis.

After the allegations, Publicis India started looking into the matter.
Publicis India announced the appointment of Nawaz as Executive Creative Director in April 2018. Nawaz joined Publicis India from McCann Worldwide where he was Senior Creative Director.
Recently, Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) also took action against four of its top employees when their names surfaced in the #MeToo movement wave hitting the advertising industry. DAN announced the removal of Kartik Iyer, Praveen Das, Bodhisatwa Dasgupta from Happy Creative Services and Dinesh Swamy from iProspect India.
