India is the largest market for two-wheelers globally and two-wheelers represent 70% of all registered motor vehicles in India. Combine this information with the congested roads of the country and the two-wheeler mode of Google Maps becomes very important for motorists in India.

Conceptualised by Lowe Lintas Delhi, Google Maps has launched a new ad film to promote their two-wheeler mode in the Indian market. Set to a catchy background score, the video shows some typical traffic riddled roads of India and how Google Maps' two-wheeler mode helps motorists navigate them.

Commenting on the idea behind the campaign, Janmenjoy Mohanty, Regional President – North and East, Lowe Lintas, said, “Perhaps the single biggest irritant two-wheeler riders face is having to put their foot down on the road, a sign that there is a stoppage, delay or obstruction on their route. It is this that increases the pain of a journey, a feeling that other motorists in cars and other vehicles never ever feel. We used this insight to bring to life the story of Google Maps two-wheeler mode, which allows two-wheeler riders to ride unhindered, without putting their foot down. In fact, the TVC is designed almost as a tribute to the ‘feet’ of two-wheeler riders, making them feel special and ‘beautiful’”.
