GEC Watch: Sony continues to lead urban, Zee Anmol rules U+R and rural markets

In the Week 37 of 2018, Colors and Star Plus have both grown significantly to jump two spots up in the U+R markets

Sony Entertainment Television has continued to lead the urban markets, while Zee Anmol maintained its top spot in the U+R and rural markets in Week 37 of 2018 (September 8-14). Colors and Star Plus have both gained numbers significantly to climb two spots each in the U+R markets. Dangal too grew by one spot in the rural market. As per BARC India data, none of Sony’s shows have been listed in the top five lists across the three markets.

Amongst the most watched shows list, Colors’ Dance Deewane re-entered the urban top shows’ list. The rest of the top performers remained the same.

Top channels in U+R markets

As per select BARC India data for Week 37 of 2018 (September 8-14) for HSM (U+R): NCCS All: 2+ Individuals, Zee Anmol remained at the leadership position in the U+R markets with 814.441  million (last week 838.334 million) Impressions. Zee TV remained at No. 2 clocking 689.824 million (last week 689.309 million). At No. 3, Star Utsav garnered 684.456   million
(last week 658.543 million). Star Plus jumped two spots to be No.4 with 645.590 million (last week 614.665 million) Impressions. Star Bharat dropped to No.5 spot clocking 645.481 million (last week 645.596 million) Impressions. Colors, jumped to No 6.spot from at No. 8, garnering 627.968 million (last week 584.060 million).Sony Pal stood at No. 7 spot clocking 612.125 million (last week 622.584 million) Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television dropped by on spot to to No. 8 by clocking 602.756 million (last week 599.495 million).Rishtey remained at No. 9 position with 488.785 million (last week 532.809 million) Impressions. At No. 10 is Sony SAB with 425.972 million impressions.

Top shows in U+R markets

Colors’ Naagin-3 clocked 14.422 million (last week 14.294   million) Impressions, leading the most-watched programmes’ list in the U+R segment. Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya jumped to
No. 2 with 14.071 (last week 12.676 million) Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Kumkum

Sony Entertainment Television jumped to the top position in Week 37 in the urban markets grabbing 458.502 million (last week 448.725 million) Impressions. At No.2 is Star Plus with 455.440 million (last week 439.702 million) Impressions. Colors jumped to  No.3  gaining million 431.405 Impressions (last week 397.917 million) Impressions.  Zee TV, meanwhile dropped to No. 4 clocked 410.794 million (last week 421.594 million) Impressions. At No. 5, Star Bharat garnered 324.340 million (last week 316.790 million) Impressions, followed by Sony SAB at No. 6 that clocked 318.293 million (last week 333.351million) Impressions.
