Digital news publishers association formed

Founding members include the biggies of print and broadcast media such as ToI, India Today, HT, Malayala Manorama, NDTV, Dainik Jagran, Dainik Bhaskar, Indian Express amongst others. The association will soon add more publishers and digital only platforms

Digital news publishers association formed

After a lot of discussion and string of meetings, a Digital News Publishers Association was announced in Delhi on September 21, 2018. The news association will not have any hierarchical structure with defined President or Secretary personnel. As one of the members said, “all members are equal in this association.”

Few of the founding members of the association include names like India Today Group, Jagran New Media, Malayala Manorama, HT Digital Streams, The Times of India, NDTV, The Indian Express, Dainik Bhaskar Group, Eenadu and Amar Ujala. The association will soon add more publishers and digital only platforms.

Gyan Gupta, CEO, Dainik Bhaskar Digital, explained the objective and motto behind setting this association up. He said, “The objective is to promote and grow the digital ecosystem. We want to promote awareness about the latest developments in digital industry relating to news and content and to disseminate knowledge amongst its members. We also want to make it a self regulated body that we can work along with the government and other industry associations and grow this entire digital ecosystem.”
