This IPL season, Twitter has partnered with Star Sports and Cricbuzz for two separate initiatives titled ‘Star Sports Select Dugout’ and #CricbuzzLIVE.
Through the Star Sports Select Dugout team, Twitter will offer fans an opportunity to interact directly with an illustrious list of commentators and experts from Star Sports Select simply by tweeting @StarSportsIndia with the hashtag #SelectDugout. The best will get a personalised video response from a Star Sports Select expert via Twitter
Not only will fans get a chance to have their questions answered, they will also get unique perspective about the game from a wide group of experts representing multiple nationalities, including Brett Lee, Scott Styris, Dean Jones, Anil Kumble, Damien Fleming, Darren Sammy, Graeme Smith and Kevin Pietersen.
A Star India spokesperson said, “In line with our commitment to reimagine Vivo IPL 2018 and giving our fans a world-class offering, the #SelectDugout is our endeavour to enhance the core cricket fan’s viewing experience this season. Keeping our fans at the centre of everything we do, The Dugout will provide them with analysis, interesting data, expert opinion and in-depth content throughout the season. The illustrious list of commentators and experts are some of the most well-known and respected voices across the cricketing fraternity, and we think this engagement with Twitter will give our core fans the opportunity to interact with these experts."
About the Star Sports partnership, Aneesh Madani, Head of Sports Partnerships, Asia Pacific, Twitter, said, “This brings fans and commentators closer than ever before with direct, authentic access. Only on Twitter can you have the unique opportunity of receiving a personal reply on video with your Tweet embedded in it for posterity. Star has set the bar for bridging broadcast and digital engagement for cricket, and we can’t wait to see how many fans they delight through this experience.”
With Cricbuzz, Twitter will live stream #CricbuzzLIVE every Saturday alongside a live curated timeline of tweets to a global cricket audience. This is the first stream in India to bring live cricket content to Twitter alongside real-time conversation and Tweets on the same screen.
Twitter will enable fans to watch the #CricbuzzLIVE preview show every Saturday during the season and before each game in the Playoffs and Finals. The live streams will feature a curated timeline of tweets from which fans can engage directly with the show and join in the cricket conversation.
#CricbuzzLIVE will be available to logged-in and logged-out users on Twitter and connected devices. Cricket fans can access the live streams at live.twitter.com/cricbuzzlive and @cricbuzz on Twitter. The first show is on April 7 at 7.30 pm.
The expert panel for the show includes Zaheer Khan, Harsha Bhogle, Gaurav Kapur, Michael Vaughan, Simon Doull, Joy Bhattacharjya, Gautam Bhimani and Danish Sait.
In addition to the special #CricbuzzLIVE live streams every Saturday, fans can also watch live video directly from the @Cricbuzz Twitter account every day throughout the season with a dedicated mix of analysis, player interviews and recaps.
