Trends, the apparel and accessories specialty chain of Reliance Retail, has announced Rana Daggubati as its brand ambassador. Trends’ new TV brand campaign with Daggubati was aired from March 1.
The first look of Trends’ new brand campaign, ‘Get Them Talking’, was previewed recently. The grand reveal was presented through a high octane event at the Trends’ Flagship store in Begumpet in the heart of Hyderabad. Rana’s charismatic entry during the event was marked by a special sand art display.
Akhilesh Prasad, CEO, Trends, said, “Trends today is India’s largest apparel destination serving latest in fashion to a wide section of our population. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is a significant region. Trends has received a great response from the people in this region for all these years and it plans to continue its aggressive growth in future.’’
Hari Krishnan, Head, Lowe Lintas, Bangalore, said, “The insight comes from an observation that today in a world where the spotlight is on 24/7, where everything is photographed, shared, liked and commented, it’s great to be appreciated. It’s even okay to be trolled. But it’s unacceptable to be ignored. With ‘Get them talking’, the brand makes a statement that fashion from Trends keeps you in the thick of all action by getting you all the attention.”
“We have over 60 stores in the region, the largest by any fashion retailer and we intend to continue to grow our presence and consolidate our position as India’s leading apparel destination. This association with Rana Daggubati will help establish a strong connect for Trends with consumers. Rana Daggubati is very popular with the audiences; he portrays a rare blend of talent, fashion and versatility as an actor and handsomely complements Trends’s brand ethos,” said Prasad.
“Rana was a unanimous choice for brand ambassador when Trends set out to create its new campaign. Our new ad campaign for Trends is built on the thought of ‘Get Them Talking’ and none better than the versatile Rana Daggubati to stand for this thought,” said Prasad.
The new campaign positions Trends as a desirable apparel destination that enables today’s fashion-conscious generation to make everyday fashion statements. Prasad said, “Youngsters of today are fashion conscious, and are willing to experiment with fashion. In a social media dominated age, they live to get noticed with what they wear and how they style up. Trends, we believe, is a brand, with which they can make heads turn, spark conversations, get noticed and ‘Get Them Talking’.”
This new campaign, conceptualised by Lowe Lintas, starts with the TVC featuring Rana Daggubati and will be supported by a 360-degree marketing campaign that will be seen across outdoor, digital, print and in-store promotions. The ad is from the Fusion Films production and the director is Prasad Naik. The campaign will effectively leverage Trends’ own digital assets including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube.
Daggubati said, “Fashion and Trends go hand in hand and Trends is a brand that is widely accepted, is visible and loved by consumers across India. They have great fashion at affordable prices; the scale gives the brand an added edge. No wonder, being India’s largest apparel destination, Trends is where you would get the best of anything on Trend, in the world of Fashion.”
“I am very excited to be associated with Trends as the face of the brand. I loved the Trends line of clothing that I donned – be it their All Day Athleisure, Mod Mandarins or the Drool Worthy Denims. All of these are fashionable, cool and they are all globally on-trend in the world of fashion,” Daggubati said.
“The brand thought of ‘Get them Talking’ with Trends has a very strong connect with me and I believe it will have an equally powerful connect with the fashion aspiring consumers. When you wear Trends, you are sure to make a lot of heads turn. So head to Trends; wear the latest in fashion and you can Get Them Talking,” Daggubati said.
