WATConsult launches WAT's Your Big Idea 2.0

Dentsu Aegis Network's digital and social media agency WATConsult is back with the second season of WAT’s Your Big Idea (WYBI) and this time the stakes are even higher.

WYBI is digital ideation competition for colleges across the country, which provides a unique platform and massive opportunities to the next generation in the field of digital advertising and marketing. It is a college contact programme, where students get an opportunity to work on live projects, understand the nuances of creating digital campaigns for notable brands and showcase their creative skills to the best brand marketers in the country.

After the success of the edition of the competition, which saw 150+ registrations, 160 entries, 350 students participating and 28 teams, this year WatConsult is all set to take the property to a higher magnitude. This year, the agency has partnered with more than 20 educational institutes and leading brands and is bringing eight jury members on board.

Along with this, the recognitions and awards too have been scaled up. Besides the cash prize, endorsed certificate and an assured job offer, the winning team will also get an opportunity to visit Cannes Lions in 2018.

The agency has partnered with institutes like MICA, SIMC, XIC, IIMB, IIM (Indore), SP Jain, Jamnalal Bajaj, NMIMS, MET and Jai Hind along with brands like Swarovski, Madame Tussauds, HE Face Wash, Savlon (ITC Group), Jack and Jones and Naturolax (Piramal Healthcare).

Spread over this month, students have to log onto www.watsyourbigidea.com and register themselves. A creative brief will be shared by the allocated brand and the students have to come back with a creative concept. Selected concepts will be detailed, and the WAT panel will shortlist them.

Shortlisted teams will then present their idea, at an off-ground event, to a jury which includes names like Vineet Gautam, CEO, Bestseller Group; Sukanya Dutta Roy, MD, Consumer Goods Division, Swarovski; Sabia Gulati, Head, Sales and Marketing, Madam Tussauds; Rajesh Kamat, VP, Strategy and Operations, Piramal Enterprises; Anoop Agarwal, DGM Marketing, Emami Group, before announcing the winners.

“After the grand success of our first season, we’re glad to announce the second season of WAT’s Your Big Idea. Considering the overwhelming responses from students last year, we decided to offer them an international platform to meet, be inspired and interact with the advertising stalwarts of the world. The winning team will have the opportunity to win an all-expenses trip to Cannes Lions 2018,” said Rajiv Dingra, Founder and CEO, WATConsult.

Speaking about Wat’s Your Big Idea and its potential, Ashish Bhasin, Chairman and CEO, South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network, said, “Last year was a benchmark setter. The students came up with some exciting and innovative ideas and I’m looking forward to the entries this year. WATConsult’s initiative has helped us find some really good talent and we at Dentsu Aegis Network would continue supporting their efforts.”
