D Shivakumar, Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo India, has resigned from the company to join Aditya Birla Group as Executive Vice-President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development. In his new role, Shivakumar will directly be reporting to Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, Aditya Birla Group.

Sanjeev Chadha, CEO AMENA Sector, PepsiCo, said, "Shiv has been with PepsiCo for the past four years and has been instrumental in leading the transformation journey for the company. Notably he has been a key driver for portfolio transformation and helped develop our nutrition business, launching winning innovations with our Quaker and Tropicana brands.  Under his leadership, we also deepened consumer engagement with our flagship brands. We thank him for his commitment to the company and wish him best in his future endeavors."

Ahmed El Sheikh, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, PepsiCo Egypt and Jordan, will replace Shivakumar as the India CEO.

Sheikh comes with an impressive depth and breadth of experience in high-profile PepsiCo markets, and has held leadership roles in both our foods and beverages businesses.  In his last role, Sheikh led the Egypt business, one of our most successful, through very tough macro-economic and geo-political challenges.

"I have every confidence that Ahmed, together with our winning India leadership team, will prove to be a very powerful combination for the future success of PepsiCo India," said Chadha.

Sheikh will assume his role on November 1, while Shiv will be leaving PepsiCo on December 31.
