Taproot won big at the Spikes Asia 2017 by grabbing the Country Agency of the Year Award for India and a Grand Prix in Integrated, along with nine other metals. The Grand Prix was presented to Taproot Dentsu, Mumbai, India for ‘Adidas Odds’ for Adidas. Other than Grand Prix, the agency won one Gold, one Silver and seven Bronze Metals. All awards were grabbed for Adidas Odds campaign.
McCann was a close No. 2 that won a special award - a Grand Prix for Good for “The Immunity Charm”, Ministry Of Public Health, Afghanistan. The agency won 12 other metals at the award ceremony - two Gold for Immunity Charm campaign, six Silver and four Bronze metals. The agency won awards for World For All campaigns and Dead Hour by Nescafe, other than the campaign done for Minstry of Public Health Afghanistan.
Leo Burnett’s Roads that Honk campaign for HPCL won the agency an Innovation Spike. Leo Burnett, along with Tata Capital also grabbd a Gold and a Bronze Spike for Salaam Loans Campaign.
Weiden+Kennedy won a Gold and a Bronze Spike for Nike’s Da Da Ding Campaign.
BBDO won six metals - one Silver and five Bronze. Ogilvy&Mather won three Silver Spikes and a Bronze Spike. Edelman and BBDO together won another Bronze Spike. Webchutney won a Silver Spike for The Dislexic Captcha campaign done for Jaslok Hospital. Fingerprint Films grabbed a Bronze Spike too. Flieshman Hillard India and JWT together won four metals - three Silver and one Bronze.
Havas India won a Bronze Spike. Mediacom won a Bronze Spike for Whisper Like A Girl campaign. Medulla won a Bronze Spike too. Mindshare won a Silvr Spike for Star Plus’ Nayi Soch campaign.

The 2017 edition of Spikes Asia closed with the Spikes Asia Awards, where members of the creative industry from across Asia-Pacific gathered to celebrate and honour the best work from the region.
This year, Spikes received 4,301 entries from 23 countries. In addition to the 20 award categories announced at the Spikes Asia Awards, the ceremony also announced the recipients of: Media Agency of the Year, Independent Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Asia-Pacific Agency of the Year Award the Spikes Palm Award, the Grand Prix for Good and the Country Agency of the Year Award a new award that celebrates agency performance at a national level.
Terry Savage, Co-Chairman of Spikes Asia, commented on how this year’s crop of winning work was a shining example of how the Asia-Pacific region was embracing new creative trends. He added, “There’s been a growing movement of brands and their creative partners producing a new kind of work that goes beyond advertising. The ideas being recognised at Spikes this year show brands breaking out of traditional channels, impacting culture and delivering business results.”
