Mindshare, a Group M agency, won 13 metals --two Gold, six Silver and five Bronze -- at the Media Abbys. Three of these metals were won by Mindshare Bangladesh. Following closely were Madison Media with eight metals (five Silver and three Bronze) and Maxus with seven metals (one Gold, four Silver and two Bronze).

The Media and Publishers Abbys were announced on April 6, 2017 -- day one of Goafest 2017. In the Publishers'Abbys, JagranPrakashan led the tally with nine metals – two Gold, five Silver and two Bronze. Next in the tally of Publishers' Abbys was Mathrubhumi Printing and Publishing with three metals – one Gold and two Silver.

Mindshare grabbed Gold in the category of Best Use of Branded Content (includes online and offline media) for the campaign Dove reframes the beauty debate in India for the brand Dove. The agency got another Gold in the category of Best Use of an Integrated Campaign for the Nayi Soch campaign of Star Plus.

Maxus won Gold in the category, Best Use of Radio, for the campaign,When courage prevailed from 8pm to 8 am, for Sonata ACT.

Next in line for Media Abbys were Zenith Optimedia and Milestone Brandcom, each winning three medals. Lodestar too picked a Gold for its outdoor campaign, The World's first streets named after street kids, executed for Doorstep School. Milestone Brandcom's campaign Dabur Lajja Kavach for Dabur also grabbed a Gold in the category Best Use of Experiential, including large events.

The Social Street grabbed a total of four metals, including one Gold which it won for the Best Use of Sponsorship category for the campaign, Stars in their Eyes forGood Day. MediaCom Communications got two metals, including a Gold, for Best Use of Branded Content (includes online and offline media) for P&G's Ariel Dads Share the Load -- Men for laundry!

Other than these, Shemaroo Entertainment grabbed a Gold, their only metal this year, in the category Digital Media-Social Media for the campaign Filmi Gaane Antakshari. In the same category, ibs too won a Gold for the campaign for Bajaj Electricals Limited, Superfans-- Using social to drive loyalty. Dentsu Webchutney got two metals, including a Gold, for Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre's The Dyslexic Captcha.

Among the Publishers'Abbys, while Dainik Jagran and MatrubhumiYatra lead the pack, Dainik Bhaskar stood third with two Gold. Sakal Agro won fetched two Bronze. Chitra Lekha got one Silver and one Gold. Hindustan Times got a Bronze and HT Media fetched one Gold. Malayala Manorama won one Bronze.

The Media and Publisher Abbys recognise excellence in use of media such as Print, TV, Cinema, Outdoor, Radio, Events, Digital and Social Media among others. In its 12th edition this year, the festival received the highest ever number of entries for the Abby Awards this year from across media and advertising agencies in India with 94 entries alone making it to the Media and Publisher Abbys, which were judged by 112 jurors from across India.

Extending his congratulations to the winners, Raj Nayak, President, The Advertising Club, said, “Goafest is the world's largest industry event in the advertising industry – organised by two industry bodies coming together. In the true sense, it is an event by Indians, for Indians and completely made in India. This year, we had over 300 jurors from across the country coming together to judge the entries for which awards will be presented over these three days of the event, with almost 112 of them judging tonight's Media and Publishing Abbys. Goafest, when it started, was only a creative awards ceremony. However, today, in its 12th edition, it has become a festival of knowledge, wisdom, entertainment, fun and a great networking opportunity.”

With industry-specific conclaves to expert seminars and Abbys presentations, the Goafest Abbys 2017 presented by the The Advertising Club and The AAA' of I has once again seen the entire advertising and marketing community descend upon the silver sands of North Goa to celebrate excellence in creativity across media platforms and genres.
