Just when you started feeling the humdrum of your everyday life, KFC India launched its innovative product offering of the year – the all-new Chilli Chizza.

The brand has rolled out its latest TVC that uses suspense and situational humour to convey how Chizza is clearly taking over pizza as the preferred choice for consumers. The campaign has been conceptualised by Ogilvy & Mather.

Commenting on the campaign, Ajay Gahlaut, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy Group Companies, North, said, “This campaign is a good example of how a great brief coupled with a client keen on doing something interesting can lead to work that is fresh and exciting.”

“We’ve been pushing the boundaries on KFC work with each campaign, and Chizza is no different. We’re really happy to partner with a client who doesn’t just create interesting products, but is also constantly encouraging us to break the mould and create interesting work that works,” added Kapil Arora, President, Ogilvy Group Companies, North.

The spot opens with a crime scene where senior investigation officer (played by Bollywood actor Sudesh Berry) is informed of the 20th victim who has been killed in a similar manner. The investigator bends on his knees and the camera now focuses on the victim, which when uncovered turns out to be a distorted pizza. As he asks his team members if they suspect anyone, he is handed a box of KFC’s new Chilli Chizza by his assistant. Completely blown away by the first bite, he exclaims “Mind Blowing! Yeh toh pizza ko mar dalega”. The moment he utters those words, all associates turn towards him (as if he just solved the murder mystery), the music becomes intense and the camera pans to a box of Chilli Chizza with the voice over saying, #SorryPizza.

Commenting on the TV commercial Lluis Ruiz Ribot, CMO, KFC India, said, “KFC is back yet again with an innovative product offering, and we are confident that Chilli Chizza will soon become the preferred choice of Gen Y through its all chicken, no crust proposition. With the TVC we hope to nudge the young Indian consumer who is always on the look-out for something new, exciting, crave-able and bold to try.”
