Zakka Jacob of CNN-News18 gets Best News Presenter/Anchor award at Asian TV Awards 2016
The Star Plus show Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi was awarded the Best Talk Show award, while The Buck Stops Here: Terror in Pathankot from NDTV 24×7 was given the Best News Show award at the awards function held on December 1 and 2 in Singapore

At the Asian TV Awards held on December 1 and 2, 2016 at Suntec City, Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Zakka Jacob of CNN-News18 was honoured with the Best News Presenter/Anchor award.
The Star Plus show Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi was awarded the Best Talk Show award, while The Buck Stops Here: Terror in Pathankot from NDTV 24×7 was given the Best News Show award.
In the highly commended list, Chhota Bheem Himalayan Adventure on Pogo (Turner Broadcasting System) found a place in the best 2D Animation Programmes category, while We The People – Stop Sexism. Period from NDTV 24x7 appeared in the Best Talk Show category.
There were total 27 categories under which the awards were announced, 20 of them being 'Programming Categories', while three categories fell under the 'Performance Categories' and four others fell under 'Technical and Creative Categories'.
Asian Television Awards were launched in 1996. It is the Asian TV industry's significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance.
Determined by an expert panel of over 60 judges from across the region, the results are tabulated and audited by international auditing firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers, with the winners only announced during the awards ceremony.
The judging process has also been brought into the digital era by being conducted online. This is designed to lessen the judging workload and provide judges greater comfort and flexibility by enabling them to screen the entries at their own pace.
