Ninad Umargekar, who joined Taproot in August 2015 as Head of Strategic Planning, has decided to move on from the agency and has launched his own venture, Onewall Monkey. Onewall is a wall design company, working as an agency for institutional clients to tell stories on plain and boring walls. Home interior walls will have specific products with an e-commerce model. He is partnered in this venture by his friends and entrepreneurs, Swapneel Thakoor and Aditya Jayawant.

Umargekar tells BestMediaInfo.com that while he is chasing his passion for art and design through his own venture, he continues to be a consultant with the agency. Umargekar took to social media to express about his venture:

Hello friends. Of all the good things that have happened to me, the one that I cherish the most is my love and passion for ideas. Today, an idea is making me do something that I never aspired to, being an entrepreneur. It's an idea that stayed with me and serenaded me for four long years before I decided to get wedded to it.

Friends, I present to you Onewall, a one-of-a-kind wall design and ideas company with a mission to change the face of all plain and boring walls in the world.

According to Umargekar, his offering is the most unique offering in the category in any market. He said, “Most architects create functional structures and some of them are quite stunning. But we rarely see spaces based on ideas. Architect partnership to sell space ideas is the opportunity for commercial spaces like cafes, offices, hotels, and so on. On the other hand, for homes, most of the mass market doesn't see beyond paint. It is a very under-marketed space in a country as big as ours. Our company aims to serve the layer above paint to create magic on walls.”

Umargekar has about 15 years of experience in the advertising and media industry. He began his career with IMRB working for four years with a short stint at The Times of India. His decade-long stint in advertising was with agencies like Percept, Lowe-Lintas (Now Mullen Lowe Lintas) and Famous Innovations before joining Taproot.
