The rankings of the top channels largely remained the same in Week 50 (December 10-16) of BARC data. Star Plus continued to top the U+R (urban and rural combined) and urban markets, while Rishtey too stayed at No. 1 in rural markets.

Sony gained good numbers as its dance reality shows too grew its viewership numbers, though marginally.

Top Channels in U+R markets

In combined (U+R) markets, Star Plus remained at its top position with 669.638 million Impressions, closely followed by Colors which also stayed at No. 2 with 668.471 million Impressions. Zee TV was at No. 3 with 477.866 million Impressions followed by Sony Entertainment Television which also held on to No. 4 with 444.195 million Impressions. Rishtey moved on position up at No. 5 with 412.427 million Impressions, while Life OK at No. 6 garnered 408.864 million Impressions. Sony Pal slipped by two spots to come at No. 7 with 397.568 million Impressions. Staying at its position, Zee Anmol at No. 8 clocked 384.625 million Impressions, followed by Sony SAB and Star Utsav that stood at the trailing end at No. 9 and 10 with 349.207 million Impressions and 339.302 million Impressions, respectively.

Top Programmes in U+R markets

Colors' Naagin Season 2 topped the list with 13.311 million Impressions followed by Naagin on Rishtey that got 12.201 million Impressions in Week 50. Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 3 with 11.804 million Impressions, while the finale episode of Sony Entertainment Television's dance reality show Super Dancer stood at No. 4 with 10.771 million Impressions. Colors' Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki has clocked 9.943 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban markets

Star Plus stayed at No. 1 position in the urban markets with 456.742 million Impressions, while Colors at No. 2 garnered 448.126 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television took the third position with 311.050 million Impressions, followed by Zee TV which clocked 282.882 million Impressions. Life OK, at No. 5 garnered 267.650 million Impressions. Sony SAB followed at No. 6 with 256.342 million Impressions while &TV was at No. 7 with 154.066 million Impressions. Sony Pal stood at No. 8 with 111.089 million Impressions. Rishtey stood at No. 9 with 105.728 million Impressions. Zee Anmol trailed at No. 10 with 94.158 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Colors' Naagin Season 2 led with 8.460 million Impressions. Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya re-entered the list at No. 2 with 7.380 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television programmes grabbed the next two spots with its properties Super Dancer (6.867 million Impressions) and The Kapil Sharma Show (6.823 million Impressions) at No. 3 and 4 spots, respectively. Colors' Shakti - Astitva Ke Astitva Ki stood at No. 5 garnering 6.757 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural markets

Rishtey retained the No. 1 position with 306.698 million Impressions, while Zee Anmol was at No. 2 with 290.467 million Impressions. Sony Pal at No. 3 got 286.479 million Impressions. Star Utsav at No. 4 garnered 250.388 million Impressions, followed by Colors with 220.346 million Impressions. Star Plus stood at No. 6 with 212.896 million Impressions. Zee TV at No. 7 got 194.984 million Impressions. Life OK stayed to No. 8 spot with 141.214 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television at No. 9 clocked 133.146 million Impressions and Big Magic at No. 10 with 123.624 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Rural markets

As per BARC data, {HSM (Rural): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Rishtey's Naagin grabbed the first spot amongst the most watched programmes in rural markets by garnering 9.493 million Impressions. Sony Pal's Balveer climbed to No. 2 with 5.735 million Impressions. Colors' Naagin Season 2 stood at No. 3 with 4.850 million Impressions. Zee Anmol's Jodha Akbar (4.840 million Impressions) and Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya (4.423 million Impressions) were at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
