GEC Watch: Colors rides strong in U+R and Urban markets, Sony Pal leads Rural

Sony Pal gained on the back of Baalveer which stood at the second position among top programmes in rural markets

In Week 45 (November 5-11) of BARC Data, Colors continued to lead the top channels list in combined and urban markets. Sony Pal led the rural markets on the back of its show Baalveer which stood at the second position among top shows in the rural markets. Sony SAB slipped positions in combined and urban markets while Sony Entertainment Television went up in combined and urban markets. Viacom18’s Colors and Rishtey ruled the top programmes list in combined markets with four of its shows in the top five list.

In combined (U+R) markets, Colors topped with 641.387 million Impressions. Star Plus followed with 597.790 million Impressions. At No. 3 is Sony Pal with 470.891 million Impressions followed by Zee TV at No. 4 with 435.915 million Impressions. Zee Anmol stands at No. 5 with 435.662 million Impressions followed by Sony Entertainment Television with 409.301 million Impressions. Star Utsav is at No. 7 with 398.716 million Impressions, followed by Rishtey at No. 8 with 380.487 million Impressions. Life OK and Sony SAB trailed at No. 9 and 10 with 376.803 million Impressions and 365.226 million Impressions respectively.

Top Programmes in U+R markets

In U+R markets, Colors’ Naagin Season 2 continued to lead with 14.082 million Impressions. Colors’ Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki is at No. 2 with 11.020 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya slipped to No. 3 with 10.470 million Impressions. Rishtey’s Naagin is at No. 4 with 9.903 million Impressions and Color’s Udaan is at No. 5 with 8.949 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban Markets

Colors retained lead in urban markets with 433.668 million Impressions. Star Plus stands at No. 2 with 401.346 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stood at No. 3 with 287.727 million Impressions followed by Zee TV with 253.034 million Impressions. Sony SAB slipped to No. 5 with 252.499 million Impressions. Life OK is at No. 6 with 238.881 million Impressions. &TV is at No. 7 with 144.128 million Impressions. Sony Pal is at No. 8 with 127.610 million Impressions. Zee Anmol and Star Utsav stand at No. 9 and 10 with 104.107 million Impressions and 93.057 million Impressions respectively.

Top Programmes in Urban Markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Colors’ Naagin – Season 2, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Udaan were the top most watch programmes with 8.604 million Impressions, 7.655 million Impressions and 6.258 million Impressions respectively. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 4 with 6.255 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television’s The Kapil Sharma Show followed with 6.077 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural Markets

Sony Pal leads the rural markets with 343.280 million Impressions at the back its show Baalveer. Zee Anmol slipped to No. 2 with 331.554 million Impressions. Star Utsav gained a position as it stood at No.3 with 305.659 million Impressions. Rishtey slipped to No. 4 with 290.181 million Impressions. Colors followed at No. 5 with 207.719 million Impressions. Star Plus stands at No. 6 with 196.443 million Impressions. Zee TV is at No. 7 with 182.881 million Impressions. Life OK is at No. 8 with 137.922 million Impressions. Big Magic and Sony Entertainment Television stood at No. 9 and No. 10 respectively with 124.137 million Impressions and 121.574 million Impressions.

Star Utsav’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is at No. 3 with 5.233 million Impressions. Colors’ Naagin Season 2 stood at No. 4 with 5.477 million Impressions followed by Star Utsav’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya with 5.228 million Impressions.
