GEC Watch: Colors retains No. 1 spot in U+R markets

Colors’ Naagin Season 2 and Shakti continue to rule the top five programmes list in combined and urban markets

Colors has maintained its Diwali run as it continues to lead in U+R markets in Week 43 of BARC India data. The channel continues to gain viewership on the back of Shakti and Naagin Season 2 which figure as the top two programmes in the list of top five most watched shows.

In Week 43 (October 22 to 28) of BARC India data, Colors led with 683.402 million Impressions followed by Star Plus with 660.542 million Impressions. Zee Anmol is at No. 3 with 500.722 Impressions followed by Zee TV with 476.401 million Impressions. Sony Pal stands at No. 5 with 431.781 million Impressions followed by Sony SAB at No. 6 with 412.435 million Impressions.

Sony Entertainment Television stood at No. 7 with 395.971 million Impressions. Star Utsav is at No. 8 with 395.049 million Impressions followed by Rishtey with 386.132 million Impressions. Life OK stood at No. 10 with 366.503 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in U+R markets

In combined U+R markets, Colors’ Naagin Season 2 stayed at the top, garnering 12.673 million Impressions. Colors, Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki too retained its No. 2 rank with 11.566 million Impressions. At No. 3, Star Plus’ Ye Hai Mohabbatein got 10.615 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya at No. 4 got 10.469 million Impressions, followed by Rishtey’s Naagin with 10.446 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban markets

Colors continued to lead in urban markets with a viewership of 454.724 million Impressions. Star Plus trails at No. 2 with 440.275 million Impressions. Sony SAB is at No. 3 with 287.036 million Impressions followed by Sony Entertainment Television with 272.659 million Impressions. Zee TV stands at No. 5 with 269.745 million Impressions while Life OK follows with 227.310 million Impressions. &TV is at No. 7 with 130.462 million Impressions. Meanwhile, Zee Anmol stood at No. 8 in urban markets with 113.636 million Impressions. Sony Pal stands at No. 9 with 109.774 million Impressions. Rishtey trails at No. 10 with 90.903 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Colors’ Naagin Season 2 continues to lead with 7.979 million Impressions, followed by the channel’s Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki which clocked 7.688 million Impressions. Star Plus’ Ye Hai Mohabbatein is at No. 3 with 6.828 million Impressions, followed by Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya at No. 4 with 6.221 million Impressions. Star Utsav’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya followed at No. 3 with 5.364 million Impressions. Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar is at No. 4 with 5.335 million Impressions, followed by the Sony Pal’s Baalveer at No. 5 with 5.231 million Impressions.
