GEC Watch: Colors retains lead in U+R and urban markets; Zee Anmol regains Rural lead

Sony took 3rd spot in urban markets on the back of strong performance by Super Dancer and The Kapil Sharma Show

Week 46 (November 12-18) of BARC data saw an interesting trend. Sony Entertainment Television’s Super Dancer and The Kapil Sharma Show were in the top programmes list in Urban markets which helped the channel grab third spot in Urban markets. Colors and Zee Anmol continued to lead in Urban and Rural markets, respectively.

In combined (U+R) markets, Colors retained its lead with 651.395 million Impressions followed by Star Plus with 651.395 million Impressions. Zee TV was at No. 3 with 468.175 Impressions followed by Zee Anmol with 453.971 million Impressions. Sony Pal stood at No. 5 with 452.344 million Impressions followed by Star Utsav at No. 6 with 423.923 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television stood at No. 7 with 408.526 million Impressions. Sony SAB was at No. 8 with 384.296 million Impressions. Life OK and Rishtey trailed at No. 9 and 10 with 364.012 million Impressions and 329.705 million Impressions, respectively.

Top Programmes in U+R markets

In combined U+R markets, Colors’ Naagin Season 2 topped the list with 14.036 million Impressions followed by the channel’s Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki with 11.113 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 3 with 10880 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television’s Super Dancer made it to the list at No. 4 with 10.685 million Impressions. Star Plus’ Saath Nibhaana Saathiya stood at No. 5 with 10.189 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban markets

Colors continued to lead in Urban markets with 442.099 million Impressions. Star Plus was at No. 2 with 422.982 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television took the third position with 277.921 million Impressions followed by Zee TV with 276.412 million Impressions. Sony SAB stood at No. 5 with 265.566 million Impressions. Life OK followed with 235.210 million Impressions. &TV was at No. 7 with 143.986 million Impressions. Sony Pal stood at No. 8 in urban markets with 120.751 million Impressions. Zee Anmol stood at No. 9 with 105.611 million Impressions. Star Utsav trailed at No. 10 with 99.155 million Impressions.

Top Programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Colors’ Naagin Season 2 led with 9.168 million Impressions, followed by the channel’s Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki which clocked 7.772 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television’s Super Dancer and The Kapil Sharma Show stood at No. 3 and 4 garnering 6.964 million Impressions and 6.906 million Impressions, respectively. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya stood at No. 5 with 6.722 million Impressions.

Sony Pal’s Baalveer was at No. 2 with 6.661 million Impressions followed by Zee Anmol’s Jodha Akbar with 5.346 million Impressions. Colors Naagin Season 2 stood at No. 4 with 4.868 million Impressions. Star Utsav’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya was at No. 5 with 4.842 million Impressions.
