Hugh Jackman for Micromax, Lionel Messi for Tata Tiago and now, it is Pierce Brosnan for Pan Bahar. The love of international celebrities, mainly Hollywood, for Indian brands is growing. Pierce Brosnan aka James Bond made a surprise entry to India in a different avatar this morning. 007 Brosnan was all over the front pages of India's dailies as brand ambassador of premium pan masala brand Pan Bahar from the house of DJ Group.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was the brand ambassador of the product earlier. Khan once played a character close to James Bond in the movie Agent Vinod. Competitor DS Group has Priyanka Chopra as brand ambassador for its mouth-freshener brand Rajnigandha Pearls.
A sizable but undisclosed amount has reportedly been spent to get the 63-year-old Hollywood actor on board who at one time was endorsing luxury watch brand Omega. While the company may be expecting to strengthen the brand in the highly competitive premium pan masala segment, people took to social media to express how James Bond will look like in its television ad which is expected to hit television screens soon.
Here are a few interesting conversations on Twitter on this ad:

It may be noted that celebrities continue to endorse pan masala brands despite Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) declaring pan masala ads featuring celebrities violate self-regulation advertising code.
For the record, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Arbaaz Khan endorse the mouth freshener versions of the pan masala brands.
