MN+ launches special property ‘Pathbreakers’

The channel will showcase 50 path-breaking movies over a span of 50 days. The channel has associated with Amitabh Bachchan and Pink to promote the property

MN+, the premium HD English movie channel from the Times Network, has announced the launch of its special property ‘Pathbreakers’, a compilation of Hollywood movies that redefined cinema to date. The channel will showcase 50 path-breaking movies in 50 days.

The property is an attempt to reach out to the audience that appreciates movies defining cinema and genres. Pathbreakers will air movie titles such as 12 Years A Slave, The Shawshank Redemption, The Departed, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Inception among others.

Commenting on the launch, Vivek Srivastava, Senior Vice-President and Head, English Entertainment Cluster, Times Television Network, said, “MN+ is the destination for highest quality cinema that showcases a comprehensive list of must watch movies. The property, ‘Pathbreakers’, will showcase movies that redefined cinema, broke stereotypes and pioneered change, influencing movie makers and cinema goers for decades. With this movie line-up, we aim to stir strong emotions in our discerning movie buffs and make them sit up and take notice. The name itself clearly spells out the positioning of our channel and we look forward to an amazing response for this property.”

The channel has also associated with Amitabh Bachchan and Pink to promote the property. Bachchan will lend his voice for an extensive radio campaign.

Shedding some light on the tie up with MN+, Creative Producer of the movie Pink, Shoojit Sircar, said, “The tie-up with MN + ‘Pathbreakers’ was important for us to ensure we reach out to the right audience in urban India as the movie Pink is aimed at the youth and hopefully will be looked at as a film that sets a new trend upon its release. I hope our movie sets a benchmark like the classics in their genre – 12 Years A Slave and The Shawshank Redemption -- that are being aired by MN+.’’

Speaking about Pink’s association with MN+, Amitabh Bachchan said, “MN+ is known to feature award-winning classics. I am glad to launch my movie Pink with the channel’s biggest property ‘Pathbreakers’ which promotes movies that have initiated a change in the society and among individuals. Through Pink, our endeavour is to ensure women get their due respect in society.’’

Starting September 12, MN+ will showcase 50 path-breaking Hollywood movies from Monday to Friday at 9 pm.
