In Week 35 (August 27-Sept 2, 2016) of BARC data, Star Plus continued its growth to further strengthen its leadership among Hindi general entertainment channels. In Urban+Rural markets, Zee TV too strengthened its No. 2 position followed by Colors and Zee Anmol at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Star Utsav was at No. 5 position.

In U+R markets, Star Plus recorded 762 million Impressions followed by Zee TV with 598 million and Colors with 538 million Impressions. Zee Anmol was at No. 4 position with 517 million Impressions followed by Star Utsav with 440 million Impressions which lost about 70 million Impressions this week.

Life OK stood at No. 6 with 412 million Impressions while Sony Pal was at No. 7 with 390 million Impressions. Sony SAB was at No. 8 with 384 million Impressions followed by Sony Entertainment Television at No. 9 with 377 million Impressions. Risthey stayed at No. 10 with 301 million Impressions.

Top programmes in U+R

In combined (U+R) markets, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya strengthened its lead with 12.6 million Impressions. Star Plus shows Saath Nibhana Saathia grabbed No. 2 position this week 10.7 million Impressions pushing Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas – Jaag Utha Shaitan to No. 3 with 10.6 million Impressions. Colors’ Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsas Ki rose to No. 4 position with 9.1 million Impressions while Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Mohabbatein slipped to No. 5 position with 9 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban markets

Star Plus widened its lead margin to 140 million Impressions from Colors this week. Star Plus recorded 508 million Impressions in urban markets followed by Colors with 368 million Impressions. Zee TV remained third most watched channel with 342 million Impressions followed by SAB TV with 280 million and Sony Entertainment Television with 273 million Impressions. Life OK slipped to No. 6 position this week with 268 million Impressions while &TV retained No. 7 position and recorded 159 million Impressions in urban markets. FTA channels Zee Anmol, Star Utsav and Sony Pal were at No. 8, 9 and 10 with 122, 108 and 99 million Impressions, respectively.

Top Programmes in Urban markets

As per select data {HSM (Urban): NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): 4+ Individuals}, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya continues to lead with 7.5 million Impressions followed by Saath Nibhana Sathiya on Star Plus with 7.1 million Impressions. Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas grabbed No. 3 position with 6.6 million Impressions followed by Colors’ Shakti at No. 4 position with 6.4 million Impressions. SAB TV’s Tarak Mehta entered the top-5 club with 6.4 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Rural markets

In the Rural markets, Zee Anmol continued to rule the chart with 396 million Impressions followed by Star Utsav at No. 2 with 332 million Impressions. Sony Pal stood firm at No. 3 with 290 million Impressions while Zee TV was at No. 4 with 256 million Impressions. Star Plus was at No. 5 in rural markets this week and garnered 253 million Impressions. Rishtey retained No. 6 positions with 223 million Impressions.

Colors remained at No. 7 with 169 million Impressions followed by Life OK at No. 8 with 144 million Impressions. SAB TV and Sony Entertainment Television were at No. 9 and 10 with 104 million Impressions each.
