Jagran Group’s compact daily mid-day has decided to return to its roots with two editions a day in Mumbai following its brand campaign, “WEunCOVER Mumbai”. Originally, the newspaper published two editions in Mumbai -- early-morning and noon. The paper became a morning-only edition in April 2009.
In addition to the morning paper, the daily has brought back its evening variant promising to be fresh and updated with news and gossips on all that transpires from mid-night to the next day noon.
Sandeep Khosla, CEO, mid-day infomedia, said, “If Mumbai is a city that never sleeps, we are the paper that believes in keeping pace with it. Our reporters would be scanning the city through the night to bring to the reader exclusive stories. Besides this, the evening edition would catch international news, Mumbai’s nightlife and updates on large sporting events, happenings which other papers would only publish the next day.”
The mid-day evening edition would be available from 4 pm onwards, Monday to Friday. The design, look and feel have been changed, making it more sleek and trendy. A red top mast-head will give the paper its own identity, distinguishing it from its morning counterpart.
The popular sections of Hitlist, The Guide, Sports and Timepass have been enhanced and especially customised to catch to the evening readers’ interest.
The daily has an average issue readership of 5,73,000 according to readership figures released in IRS 2014.
