GEC Watch: Star Utsav retains No. 2 slot in combined U+R markets

Star Plus continues to lead in combined U+R and Urban markets, while Star Utsav retains Rural lead. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya continues to be the most watched show in U+R markets

In Week 33 of BARC Impressions, while Star Plus’ Dance + Season 2 made it to the top five programmes; and Zee’s ‘Brahmarakshas – Jaag Utha Shaitan’ continued to be the second most viewed show for the second week in a row. There was no major change in the pecking order of channels.

Star Plus continues to hold the No. 1 position with 668.069 million Impressions in combined U+R markets.  Star Utsav is at No. 2 with 549.545 million Impressions followed by Zee TV with 542.520 million Impressions. Colors is at No. 4 with 508.811 million Impressions followed by Zee Anmol with 479.214 million Impressions.

Life OK stands at No. 6 with 405.279 million Impressions while Sony Pal is at No. 7 with 401.288 million Impressions. Sony SAB is at No. 8 with 375.133 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television is at No. 9 with 369.158 million Impressions and lastly, Rishtey with 300.669 million Impressions.

Top programmes in U+R

In combined (U+R) markets, Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya continues lead with 11.297 million Impressions. At No. 2 is Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas – Jaag Utha Shaitan with 10.271 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television’s The Kapil Sharma Show is at No. 3 with 8.753 million Impressions, followed by Star Plus’ Dance + Season 2 with 8.523 million Impressions. Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is at No. 5 with 8.096 million Impressions.

Top Channels in Urban markets

As per BARC data for Week 33 (August 13 – August 19), Star Plus maintained its lead with 451.634 million Impressions, against last week’s 475.066 million Impressions

Colors is at No. 2 with 357.667 million Impressions, a decline from last week’s 403.412 million Impressions

Zee TV is at No. 3 with 311.093 million Impressions, compared to 333.529 million Impressions last week.

Sony SAB stands at No. 4 with 271.653 million Impressions, a decline from last week’s 283.193 million Impressions.

Sony Entertainment Television rose to at No. 5 with 264.041 million Impressions, a rise from last week’s 255.451 million Impressions.

Life OK stands slipped to No. 6 with 257.330 million Impressions, a decline from last week’s 272.235 million Impressions.

&TV stands at No. 7 with 159.776 million Impressions, compared to last week’s 158.318 million Impressions.

Star Utsav is at No. 8 with 131.778 million Impressions, a fall from last week’s 137.591 million Impressions.

Zee Anmol stands at No. 9 with 111.573 million Impressions (last week 120.560 million Impressions).

Sony Pal is at No. 10 with 91.486 million Impressions, a decline from last week’s 94.924 million Impressions.

Zee TV’s Brahmarakshas – Jaag Utha Shaitan is at No. 2 with 6.453 million Impressions (6.980 million Impressions).

Sony Entertainment Television’s The Kapil Sharma Show is at No. 3 with 6.391 million Impressions (6.288 million Impressions).

At No. 4 is Star Plus’ Dance + - season 2 with 6.134 million Impressions.

Zee TV is at No. 4 with 231.427 million Impressions, a fall from last week’s 253.205 million Impressions.

Rishtey is at No. 5 with 222.953 million Impressions, a substantial rise from last week’s 194.410 million Impressions.

Star Plus is at No. 6 with 216.435 million Impressions, compared to last week’s 216.470 million Impressions.

Star Utsav’s Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is at No. 3 with 4.782 million Impressions (last week 6.489 million Impressions).

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya is at No. 4 with 4.600 million Impressions (last week 4.933 million Impressions).

Zee Anmol’s Kasam Hai Tujhe Aa Bhi Jaa makes it to the list at No. 5 with 4.397 million Impressions.
