Getting some relief from the Indian Premier League impact, the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) have brought back viewers to some extent. Meanwhile, even though 'The Kapil Sharma Show'is the fifth most watched show in Week 17 of BARC ratings, Sony Entertainment Television continues to languish at the bottom of the top Hindi GEC spile.

The situation remains the same among the top programmes on Hindi movie channels, wherein various IPL matches are listed in the top five programmes for the week. Additionally, as in last week, in the list of top 10 channels across genres, Sony Max has remained at the top purely on the back of IPL.

According to select data shared by BARC India for Week 17 for Hindi GECs (April 23-29, 2016) {HSM: NCCS All: 4+ Individuals: BARC India base – All India (U+R), Impressions (000s)}, Star Plus moved back on No. 1 with 692202 Impressions, up from last week's 628039 Impressions.

Life OKhas gained numbers, clocking 478240 Impressions, ahead of last week's 452797 Impressions.

Sony Pictures Networks' channel SAB TV is at No. 5 with a gross viewership of 359899 Impressions, marginal increase from Week 16's 359090 Impressions.

Sony Entertainment Television has gained immensely with 347921 Impressions (last week -278738 Impressions) on the back of its highly anticipated property 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. The channel still remained at No. 6.

FTA Channels
