Prabhu Chawla to launch a new Hindi news channel
A formal announcement will be made by the promoters of the channel next week

The veteran and enigmatic journalist Prabhu Chawla is all set to make a comeback on television and this time as a promoter of a soon to be launched Hindi news channel. Chawla, who is currently Editorial Director of The New Indian Express and The Sunday Standard, and CEO of Eventxpress Management Services, announced this on Twitter yesterday.

When contacted, Chawla told BestMediaInfo.com that his tweet was a teaser and a formal announcement will be made by the promoters of the channel next week. He denied being among one of the promoters but the multiple sources in the industry confirmed that he is one of the promoters for the upcoming channel.
One of the most popular TV chat shows host, Chawla began hosting Seedhi Baat on Aaj Tak when he was Group Editor of India Today Group. Chawla presented over 450 episodes of Seedhi Baat over 9 years on Aaj Tak. After Seedhi Baat, Chawla moved his chat shows on IBN7 (Teekhi Baat), ETV and India News (Sachchi Baat).
