Alok Nair, Executive Vice-President and Business Head at Bloomberg TV India, has called it quits, Friday, April 22 being his last day with the company.

He had joined the business news channel in December 2014, from CNBC TV18 and CNBC Prime HD where he was the National Revenue Head. Nair's next move is not yet decided and it is learnt that he is toying with the idea of entrepreneurship at the moment.

At Bloomberg India, his job mandate included responsibility for P&L, business strategy, marketing, content, distribution and overall growth strategy of the channel. He was working with the board of Business Broadcast News Ltd.

The news comes close to the heels of Bloomberg joining hands with Raghav Bahl's Quintillion Media, after the end of the international broadcaster's partnership with Business Broadcast News.

Business Broadcast News Ltd has been operating Bloomberg TV in India for seven years. The shareholders in the company include names like Reliance Capital Ltd and entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala, among others.

Nair had had joined Network 18 in 2003 as a Senior Executive and moved on from the network in 2015, to join Bloomberg TV India.

Nair comes with a rich experience in print, general news and business news domain. At Network 18, he was part of the initial team and has seen the network grow from one channel, CNBC TV 18, and one portal, www.moneycontrol.com, to one of the biggest integrated news networks. He was closely involved with building the 'Focus' brand solutions business, and was instrumental in creating path-breaking formats and properties across business and general news channels – CNBC TV18, CNBC AWAAZ,CNN IBN and IBN7. He eventually went on to head the Focus business across the News Network.
