A new mythological television series, 'Baal Krishna', will premiere on Big Magic on March 14. The show will be on air at 6.30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Big Magic, which has built up brand equity as a light-hearted family entertainment channel within the Reliance Broadcast Network, is amplifying its bouquet of fresh and innovative content and the mythological offering is part of that effort. 'Baal Krishna' will delve into the divine life of Lord Krishna as a child.

The television series has been produced by Swastik Productions, which had earlier made two other mythological shows - 'Mahabharat' and 'Suryaputra Karn'. 'Baal Krishna' is BIG Magic's second mythological show after 'Narayan Narayan'. The show will take viewers back to the grandeur of the Dwapar Yug.

Viewers will get glimpses of Lord Krishna's 'natkhat' (naughty) childhood from his own perspective as interlocutor. In the series, Lord Krishna provides the reasoning for his actions, like lifting up the Govardhan Parvat, for instance, or killing Putna. Lord Krishna's narrations will offer a whole new perspective on his legendary life, by touching on various known and lesser known stories.

Talking of the new show, Bimal Unnikrishnan, Creative Director, Big Magic said, “While viewers have watched shows related to Lord Krishna on the small screen, BIG Magic's 'Baal Krishna' will not only explore lesser known stories, but also deal with widely popular stories about Lord Krishna in a fresh and engaging manner, something that has not been witnessed before. Moreover, with our presence on DD Free Dish, we are hopeful that our rapidly growing reach will translate to a wider audience embracing the new show.”
