To further enhance an integrated collaboration between its units, Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) recently held its annual One-DAN India conference in Hong Kong. With more than 650 managers participating in the programme, the One-DAN conference is the largest overseas training conference ever held by any marketing communications group from India.

The conference was woven around the group's One P&L approach, which fosters collaboration. For the record, Dentsu Aegis Network is home to 17 market-leading brands across creative, media, digital and performance marketing, out-of-home, and events and activation in India.

The three-day conference was an exciting forum that saw the exchange of leading-edge ideas from the different units of Dentsu Aegis Network India. These included the creative units led by the Dentsu branded creative agencies (including Taproot Dentsu and Dentsu Webchutney), the media units including Carat, Dentsu Media and Vizeum, the digital agencies including Isobar, iProspect and WATConsult, the OOH agencies including Posterscope and Milestone Brandcom, and the events & activation units including Fountainhead.)

Interactions revolved around industry-leading collaboration to deliver three key outcomes for clients: efficiency, effectiveness, excellence. In an era where clients face immense pressures on growth and profitability, Dentsu Aegis Network is evolving newer models of optimization that make the most of every marketing dollar for clients. At a time when choice and control are increasingly in the hands of consumers, clients necessarily need their marketing communications to be more effective than ever. The delivery of such effectiveness along with constantly raising the bar on excellence is where the network is uniquely positioned to innovate the way brands are built.

To this end, as both recognition and motivation for work that truly puts the client at the centre of all integration, the first One-DAN Awards for Excellence were awarded to the most outstanding talent from across DAN India. The second evening was rounded off by a party of equally happy proportions, celebrating the achievements in the present and the possibilities of the future.

The conference finale was a three-hour long open house where questions and issues were raised to and tackled by the Executive Council of Dentsu Aegis Network India. From critical issues like commuting and flexi-time that impacted productivity, to future-shaping topics like women in leadership and the road map to true collaboration, DAN citizens raised tough questions to the executive team. Beyond enabling transparency, the open house was a forum that enabled every member of the network to interact directly with the executive team, and to get straight answers to straight questions.
