With the deadline for DAS Phase III approaching and broadcasters are in the process of finalising fresh distribution deals, all the top 10 Hindi general entertainment channels have witnessed decline in viewership in Week 50 of BARC ratings. Owing to the unfinished RIO deals, Star India channels have lost heavily. Star Plus has lost its No. 1 position to Colors. Zee TV, Life OK, Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV have retained their positions.

According to select data shared by BARC India for Week 50 for Hindi general entertainment channels (December 11 to December 17) {HSM : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals : BARC India base – All India (U+R), Ratings (000s)}, Colors has topped the chart despite losing some eyeballs this week. The channel has recorded a gross viewership of 725713 (last week 746799).

Star Plus slipped to No. 2 position with a gross viewership of 707219 (last week 751510).

Zee TV too witnessed a significant drop in its viewership this week and recorded a gross viewership of 677089 against last week's 718536.

Life OK retained its No. 4 position with a gross viewership of 438496 (last week 474327).

Sony Entertainment Television lost maximum viewership and dropped to a gross viewership of 365546 against last week's 429400.

SAB TV was at No. 6 position with a gross viewership of 328664 (last week 356366).

FTA channels

Among FTA channels, Zee Anmol led the pack with a gross viewership of 752782 (last week 779821).

Star Utsav was at No. 2 with a gross viewership of 506990 (last week 568630).

Rishtey held its No. 3 position this week with a gross viewership of 272506 (last week 305570).

Sony Pal lost maximum eyeballs among FTA channels. The channel recorded a gross viewership of 238738 (last week 302045).

Top 5 programmes on Hindi GECs

As per select data (HSM: NCCS All: Prime Time (1800 – 2330 hrs): Individuals: BARC India base – All India (U+R), Colors' Naagin held the No. 1 slot for the third week in a row. The show garnered an average viewership of 18525 (last week 17819).

Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' was at No. 2 with an average viewership of 14850 (last week 15344).

Zee Anmol's 'Ek Se Bhale Do' rose to No. 3 position with an average viewership of 13051 (last week 12492).

'Kumkum Bhagya' on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 4. The show recorded a viewership of 13014 (last week 13811).

Zee TV's 'Jamai Raja' entered the top-5 club with a viewership of 12154 (Rat'000s).
