Zindagi is gearing up for the launch of 'Feriha', the first ever Turkish show on Indian television. As reported earlier, the show will premiere on September 15, 2015 and will be aired Monday to Saturday at 7.00 pm.

Commenting on the show, Priyanka Datta, Business Head, Zindagi & FTA Cluster, said, “The introduction of Turkish content is a natural progression for us and was always part of our plan for the channel. We launched Zindagi with a promise to give our viewers stories that we believe are the best from across the globe. We have handpicked content with great detailing: fiction shows with mass relevance in India; stories that mainly dwell on romance, love and family drama.”

When asked if the show will be able to build a connect with the Indian audiences, she said, “We chose 'Feriha' as the debut for Turkish content in India as the show captures the subtle nuances of the traditions and culture that is unique to our continent.”

“The story of 'Feriha' is that of a young girl torn between her family's hopes for her, her own dreams and her aspirations to fit into the upper echelons of society. We are also confident that the Indian audiences will not only appreciate the show, but will also identify with its characters. The show effortlessly blends in with our brand philosophy 'Jodey Dilon Ko' as it encapsulates the essence of different relationship be it that of a family's or the ones we love,” she added.

The channel is going all out to create buzz for the new show. Datta further said, “Undoubtedly television will play a vital role, but apart from television we are also looking at other platforms. Television promotions will include channels from our network along with other youth and music channels. Radio and digital will also be used. We are also running a contest for the audiences and the winner will get a chance to travel to Turkey.”

Speaking on the response received so far for the channel's content, Datta claimed that Zindagi had received a phenomenal response to its Pakistani content from advertisers and viewers alike in the year gone by. “Initially we started with 11-12 clients, but within a month we had 24 -25 clients on board and we ended the year with 140-150 clients in our kitty. After receiving successful and encouraging response for the Pakistani content in the first year, we thought of testing the waters with Indian origin shows, hence we launched 'Shukriya'.”

She further said that though the focus would remain on fiction shows, but the channel would also experiment with other genres as and when required.
