A delegation of news broadcasters, led by Rajat Sharma, President, News Broadcasters Association (NBA), and comprising Narayan Rao of NDTV, Ashok Venkatramani of ABP News, Anurradha Prasad of News24, Ashish Bagga of India Today, AP Parigi of Network18 and Annie Joseph, Secretary General, NBA, had an interactive session with Sunil Arora, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on September 10, 2015. Special Secretary JS Mathur was also present at the meeting.

The delegation apprised the Secretary about the initiatives taken by the broadcasting industry in the direction of self-regulation, which includes working of News Broadcasters Standards Authority (NBSA), an independent authority set up by NBA, as well as the two-tier mechanism of complaints redressal relating to news channels followed by them.

The delegation also took up some ongoing issues at the meeting, including the carriage issues with MSOs and cable operators, and revenue models for growth of the industry.
